Return to Dark Tower has been fully funded! For those not familiar, there was a game decades back released called Dark Tower. This game attempts to revitalize this grow the legacy of that game.
Return to Dark Tower is meant for 1 to 4 players who will work together on quests and fighting mobs and bosses throughout the game. The game has been designed by Rob Daviau and Isaac Childres.
Each player will control their own unique hero while powering up with items and abilities along the way. The goal of the game is to find a way into the tower at the center of the board that will be a physical tower that can be placed on the board. Once inside the party must defeat the big bad boss to win the game.
Based on the Kickstarter campaign it appears that this board game will utilize a phone application to deal with combat mechanics which is something extremely unique for a board game that I am actually really excited to try out for myself.
The tower at the center of the board itself is supposed to light up and be a mechanic that is used throughout the game. Behaving like a dice tower, players will drop skulls into it. The skulls that call out will make spaces on the board less useful as the game continues. Players are however able to use an action to clear the skulls off a given space to restore the full functionality of a tile.
As the game goes on, the longer you wait, the stronger the tower will become, giving nerfs to you and to your teammates.

Add ons have already been reached for the game. Originally shipping with 4 characters and sculpts, tower, buildings, cards, skulls and tokens and board. The add on called Alliances Expansion will come with two more characters. Dark Horde will come with some really fantastic looking evil miniatures that you need to check out for yourself.
