Talisman Lost Realms Unboxing
The day has finally arrived where we get to crack the Talisman 4th Edition Revised reprints. This set specifically is for the lost realms expansion that contains both the Deep Realm and the Nether Realm expansions that were before the reprint separate expansions. Let’s open it up and see what we get inside.
Upon opening the box, you will see the same insert that you normally got on the other expansions with a raised center. This box in particular came with the character rings for player differentiation, a deck of nether cards, another deck of deep realm cards and bridge cards. Finally it comes with some alternate ending cards as well as two map cards that will go between the city expansion and the dungeon expansion.
Though most of this unboxing should be watched in the video I want to make a few comments here as well. Since I did not have the Deep realm expansion in the past, I was surprised to see that the map tiles were actually just cards. I don’t have an issue with this, but I was expecting them to be made of the same material as the game board.
Character Rings
The Character rings that come with the set are very cool but it’s best practice to not pull on the miniature to get them out of the rings. They fit very snug and you do not want to risk the chance of tearing your mini limb from limb.
Print Quality
Finally the print quality on these cards are very similar. I found that the only real difference that I saw on this set was maybe the sharpness of the back of the alternate ending cards. Though very minimal the new set seems to be slightly muddied where as the woodlands expansion alternate ending card I had was crisp as can be. It could also be that my woodlands expansions print quality was higher than other Fantasy flight expansions for the base game.
At the end of the day it’s great to have the reprints in hand. I was so worried that I would never be able to complete my own Talisman collection as it’s easily one of my most favorite games out there and my gaming group all really enjoys the game as well. These reprints should be out and available come Holiday season for everyone so if you are looking for a gift to give your gamer friend, maybe consider Talisman.
If you want to pick up a copy of the base game for yourself they are now available on amazon.
More unboxings are on the way as well as some talisman reviews and ranking lists over the coming months as we await more talisman releases. for more information on the reprints please check out our article here.
